The Integris Hospice House is my passion. Before I came to work at Integris, my 96 year old great grandmother suffered a massive stroke and hospice was our only option for care at the end of her life. She was transferred to the Integris Hospice House where she spent her final days. I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff! The care they provided to my great grandmother was beyond exceptional. In every action or word there was love, compassion, and care not just to my great grandmother but to my family as well. When she passed we never felt rushed to leave. One of the nurse techs actually made a pan of brownies for our large family who had come to say their goodbyes.
A year ago, I worked in inpatient case management for the oncology floor at Integris Southwest Medical Center. I referred several patients to the Integris Hospice House during my time there. I was able to share not just my professional experiences with patients, but also the experience from a family members perspective. This provided some comfort to families having to make this decision at the end of their loved ones life. The staff was always great at working to get patients admitted in a timely manner as well.
I just cannot say enough wonderful things about hospice and the Hospice House! I wish there was more than one location in the metro area for patients.
